"The sky is within HAND'S REACH"

Mmn, on Saturday, I'll be going to this convention, L'Arc Con with my friends/seatmates. :D Hopefully it'll be awesome. :3 I really wanted to go there because there hardly ever is any convention dedicated to a Japanese band out here. Most probably, L'Arc~en~Ciel is the most known J-rock band there is to the local Otakus. This owes to their mainstream roots and uhm, their Anime' opening/closing songs. :DDD We're planning to join the fanart competition though we're still not sure how we'll be able to push through with it since we have little time left to make an awesome entry. Mm, what else..? My mom okay'ed with it so she'll be providing me money for tickets and merchandise (I'll just have to pray she gives me a good amount though..). I'm crossing my fingers that there are Plastic Tree stuff out there. If there are, I'll buy 'em instead. Laruku is at least easier to find here. (; o ;)

So yea.. we'll see how it'll go on Saturday. I'm looking forward to it. C:

I feel so poor nowadays. There hardly ever is a proper amount on my coin purse (which, btw, serves as my wallet 8D) and I'm usually in debt to my friends. D: There has just been so much stuff that I need to pay from my own allowance that it's not funny anymore. I'm often found saying: "Wala akong pera!" [I don't have any money!] I just.. don't want to keep asking from my mom moniez. Lawl. I feel stupid now. She'll prolly just spend the amount I'm supposed to be asking from her for BINGO.. So what gives, right? I guess I just didn't want to be a bother to her. : |

I wanted to ask for a raise on my allowance buuuut, I think (I heard) our business is not really going all that well. :\ Ah well.. My life will go on without it or at least it has to.

--

Our computer monitor just keeps on blinking on certain occasions. The CPU also did an automatic shut down the other day for some reason I don't know (:,D). This scares me. Erm, I think our computer is dying. I should really get unto that old plan of backing up all of my important files. If ever the computer would totally CRASH, then that wouldn't be as painful now, would it/ x,,,D

Okay, so another OnL song plug here~. This Orange and Lemons song, Abot Kamay, has been on loop ever since I got on it. It has a gentle breezy feel. The vocals is really beautiful too (though I can't tell if it is McCoy(vocals) or Clem (lead vocals) singing.) Anyway, the song was used for a shampoo commercial so you can relate the lyrics to it quite a bit. x3

I translated it too just in case someone would be interested in it (It's in Tagalog, yah..)

Abot Kamay
[(Within) Hand's Reach]
by: Orange and Lemons

Nakaw tingin
Sumasabay sa hangin
Sabihin mo sa ‘kin
Anong kailangan kong gawin
(Stealing glances
Going along with the wind
Tell me
What do I have to do)

Upang malapitan, mamasdan, at mahawakan
Taglay mong kagandahan
(So that I can get close, stare and touch on
the beauty you possess)

Abot kamay ang langit
Gayumang taglay ng awit
Abot kamay ang langit
Abot kamay ang langit
Haplos na dala ng tinig
Abot kamay ang langit
(The sky is within hand's reach
Charm that songs possess
The sky is within hand's reach
The sky is within hand's reach
Touch brought by a voice
The sky is within hand's reach)

Nais kong abutin
Kislap ng mga bituin
Samyo ng umaga sa hardin
Anong kailangan kong gawin
(I wish to reach
The twinkle of the stars
The scent of morning in the garden
What do I have to do)

Upang malapitan, mamasdan, at mahawakan
Taglay mong kagandahan
(So that I can get close, stare and touch on
the beauty you possess)

Abot kamay ang langit
Gayumang taglay ng awit
Abot kamay ang langit
Abot kamay ang langit
Haplos na dala ng tinig
Abot kamay ang langit
(The sky is within hand's reach
Charm that a song posess
The sky is within hand's reach
The sky is within hand's reach
Touch brought by a voice
The sky is within hand's reach)

DOWNLOAD the song, okay? K? THANKS. :DDD

To [info]sakuraadvance / Kimberly: I didn't notice your testimonial earlier! Sorry. It was back in May, right? *Stabbity-stabs GJ notify* 8,D

Oooh I hope you enjoy the con, and that you get lots of money! I would send you a bit if I could, as a late birthday gift, but it wouldn't be converted and/or arrive in time. XD
We have an event here, called Collectormania. It is to buy things you might like to collect. Last time I went they had a Japanese stall (I bought loads of candy ;d) and that had j-rock things, but there was no Plastic Tree there either. :[

Tell your computer that I will beat it with a stick. I say the same thing to this one every day and it hasn't died yet. ;D

*nervously downloads the song* I've never heard Tagalog before and I'm not sure what to expect.

You're welcome. ♥

Aww, thanks~. I wish I can send something to you too.. probably some local stuff or something (I'm quite clueless with sending stuff abroad though). Erm, I got money more than what I needed so that was great~. Only problem was that there wasn't much original merchandise at the con at all, not even L'Arc~en~Ciel. :( Well there are some, but they weren't for sale. :,T Uhm and I saw a Miyavi poster there.. I thought of you instantly, you know. ;D

That Collectormania event sounds great. It is a pity they don't carry Pura goods though.. xP

Ahaha.. Yes, my computer better get ready for some beating. He really deserves it. xD

Ah, I don't know how you would react to Tagalog.. (since it's a strange mix of mild Spanish and Malay) but I hope you'll like it anyway. :D

x3

It's a shame that there wasn't much to buy, especially when you had more money. :[ Was it fun though?

Yeah. They only sold the most famous Japanese musicians here, like... Dir en Grey, or Ayumi Hamasaki. Or Gackt. XD

Tagalog seems to be a pretty language. Well, from what I heard in the song it does. It may sound different when just spoken. For some reason I expected it to sound rough like Russian though heheh. ;]

Yea, it really was disappointing, but I've found a new use for the money anyway so that's okay. (I'll go and buy my mom something nice for her birthday :D). Though not really a "total blast", the con was fun in its own way. :]

*LOLSNORT* ..Gackt. xD (I can't explain why making fun of him amuses me so). There must be some good manga at the stall then? How about Meiji chocolates? (The Lucky Mini Almond is especially good. It's a favorite of mine. :B). >x3

Um, I'm not sure how I would take Tagalog from a non-fluent speaker's view but yea, there is hardly any difference from how it is spoken from how it is sang. :3 IMO, what's beautiful in the Tagalog language is its simplicity and purity. It's kinda hard to explain.. Hehe. \(o wo;)/

Oh and sorry if I always tend to skip a few days before replying. Lately, there's been so much that needs to be done and attended to that I just don't have the energy anymore when I face the computer. :<

Aww that's nice, that you're saving it for her birthday. :]

Gackt is funny without even trying. >.> I almost bought one of his albums last week just to see if it was any good but I decided to get one by an old goth band called Specimen instead. At least I know I like them.

I didn't notice any chocolate. Believe me, I would have bought it if I had. Collectormania starts again next friday so I will have a look then. They had Pocky at every corner I looked to though. They didn't have any manga at all actually, just wall scrolls and a lot of models of characters from anime. I really wanted to buy one of Kirika from Noir but it cost more than the mp3 player I had at the time did!
Our big music stores here sell anime and the bookstores have Tokyopop manga. Lately all I have been getting is lesser known shounen-ai (no Gravitation for me, thank you very much), which I need to order online, but they do have some brilliant series.

That's what I first liked about Thai, how simple it is. No matter how hard it may look. XD Tagalog does sound nice though. It's not a language I have heard about often. Do you have your own alphabet(s)/form of writing or do you use the same one as we do in the West?

That's fine. ♥ I don't mind at all, I know how tired you can feel when there is a lot going on.

Yea but as of now, my mother flew to Cagayan de Oro (somewhere far away from Manila/here) and I feel kind of bad because 1.) she didn't tell me she would and so 2.) I didn't even know about it. Hopefully she'll be here by October 3 then? :\

Well, I hope the Collectormania would be more awesome this time.. and there'll be a lot more chocolates for you to buy. \(o wo)/. Btw, is that event like annual, monthly, weekly or something?

Ahahah, it's good to hear you've got your music/anime/manga resources covered. xD

Mmn, Tagalog uses the same Roman alphabet except for the letter ñ (which is pronounced as "Nye" e.g. Niño (Ninyo); España (Espanya);..). That's probably the reason why Filipinos tend to be good at English aside from the fact that the Americans occupied the country for a few years (the Japanese did too but oh well.. XD).

Ah, thanks~. I hate that feeling of having my journal seem abandoned though. Hopefully, I'd be have more free time a few weeks from now. (i / i)

That's bad, she should have told you. I hope she gets back in time. :/

It occurs twice a year, maybe three times if we're lucky. It travels around the country and I guess if one city won't have it one year then they will reach here quicker? Hm. I'm hoping to take friday off work to get there early, but I had to leave work early this previous friday for a family emergency so my boss might not let me.

Ah I see. A lot of languages I have been discovering lately use different alphabets so I thought Tagalog would too, but that's good to know. I think I will look into it some more when I have free time. ;P

Ahaha, sorry. Now that I think about it, it seems that I've been taking this in too much (and I shouldn't do because she might be enjoying herself immensely there. (. w .)).

Oooh. So it kind of like travels around huh? How cute. It sounds more like a circus and bazaar in one. \(e w e)/ Okay, so just ignore me.. xD

I hope your boss would be in an awfully good mood then. You can use the time to take it easy and enjoy there at least. I hope your grandfather will be good as new soon..

Seems you have a zest for languages. Are they mostly asian then? :<

Ah, I'm not sure if Tagalog would be that interesting but give it a go then~. I'll be here if you need help. (I have songs here too~ XD).

I'm sure she is enjoying herself but I still think it's bad that she didn't tell you. *shrug*

Haha it certainly looks like a circus. They have a stall that sells decorative weapons and all of the Lord of the Rings fans come out for it, dressed up as elves and hobbits, and it's hilarious.
If I remember I will take a photo with my phone, or maybe even with a disposable camera if I have some spare money. You wouldn't believe how crowded and cramped it is between stalls.

Thank you. :-* I'm sure he will be. He doesn't get this ill often but he always manages to fight his way back to the top, he's a stubborn old thing. XD

Mostly Asian, yes. I think they're more beautiful. I'm sure you know just how terrible I am at learning languages though, so I don't try to learn them. I just like listening to them. :]

Hehe thanks. ;]

:[ Yea.. *Sighs*

Ahaha, take pictures if you can, please? I'd really love to see 'em (especially the hobbits.. OMGTHEHOBBITS !). >XD

Ah, that's good to hear then. We'll have to hope for the best. :]

So it's just like listening to music, isn't it? :3 We just love to listen to 'em but never really bother with learning them? xD

Welcome~. ;D

A L'Arc con sounds awesome! I'd love to go to something like that, but they never have conventions around where I live.

Glad you liked the testimonial~ I had a time where GJ didn't notify me about one, too. XD

Yea, it was quite nice. It wasn't as big as it should have been but I could very well see the efforts of the organizers. :]

You should try going to a con when one pops out on your place~. It'll be only truly fun though if you have friends around so bring lots with you~~. :O

♥. Hehe, GJ troubles us so at times. :P
